Research has shown that students who do not pass the 9th grade are 5 times more likely to dropout. The majority of students at West High School are Latinos (97%). In the city of Denver, Latinos had the second lowest proficiency rate of all ethic groups in math. Overall statistics show that only 42% of Latinos graduate from Denver high schools.
Help give these students the support they need to graduate with their anticipated class!
Volunteers with this program will assist 9th grade youth in improving and maintaining their grades and ultimately promote matriculation into the 10th grade, by means of relationship building, motivational techniques and academic support. | | COST (pp): | $0 | | | |
